10-Minute Besani Paneer Recipe

This besani paneer recipe comes from Anita Chahal aunty ji.

I have recently met her in Facebook. She seems to have become an inspiration for many young girls like me. Young at heart, Anita ji is a super talented woman. Recently, she shared a besani paneer recipe, which inspired me to try it once.

Made the besani paneer recipe with some modifications to Anita aunty ji's recipe.


Ingredients
250 gms- paneer (cottage cheese)
1 tbsp- roasted besan (gram flour/chickpea flour)
1 onion
1 capsicum
1 tsp- jeera (cumin seeds)
1 pinch -hing (asafoetida)
1 tsp - desi ghee (clarified butter) - you may use oil
1 cup- hung curd (I used thick curd)
salt
turmeric

Process

  1. Grease a nonstick pan and add paneer cubes. Fry.
  2. Take another pan.
  3. Add ghee.
  4. Put jeera. Let it crackle.
  5. Next add turmeric & salt.
  6. Add hing. Stir fry.
  7. Switch off the flame.
  8. Add curd/hung curd. Mix very well.
  9. Meanwhile, roast besan in another pan.
  10. Add this roasted besan to the curd tadka. Mix well.
  11. Add little water.
  12. Take little oil in a pan. 
  13. Add onion & capsicum.
  14. Stir fry. 
  15. Add the fried onion & capsicum to the besan-curd mixture.
  16. Switch on the flame. Keep on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  17. Drop in the fried paneer cubes and switch off the flame.
  18. Enjoy this delicious besani paneer with roti or rice. This makes a perfect substitute for butter paneer recipe.
